martial arts for kids

looking for some sort of martial arts for kids.?
can anyone recommend a good form of martial arts that teached discipline and defense mostly as well as a little of offense. I have a 5 and 11 year old that I would like to get them into, both girls, my son is to small still. Mostly for the 5 year old as she is small in size, (weight) and from experience she will get teased alot so I want her to be able to defend herself against bigger kids if need be, not to be aggressive though.
If you want them to truley be able to defend themselves, well let me say any will help against the average person, jujitsu will enable them to defeat an experienced fighter because all brawls end on the ground. Please trust me on this I know.
