How can I get permission to use a copyrighted phrase from starwars?
Can I use phrases like Jedi, Padawan and the force in my martial arts business without getting permision from George Lucas. If not how do I get it?
as part of my martial arts bussiness I want to offer a combination of Kung fu, Tai Chi and Kendo to kids and call it Jedi Padawan class. The kids would be refered to as Younglings and learn basic martial arts skills, a few light saber moves and a little about the Force (Chi). If I advertise this George might have a problem.
Are you going to be using them in print? Or just saying them? If you are just saying them no permission needed unless you are saying them on a TV ad. As for print….so long as you say you are quoting a movie……and giving credit to the movie…there should not be a problem. However, if you are using the quotes as your own……you better write to George.
